Olivia Attwood has broken her silence on the scandal surrounding Maura Higgins and Danny Jones after they appeared to lock lips at the BRIT Awards last month. After being caught on camera, McFly star, Danny, eventually apologised to his wife, Georgia, while Maura kept quiet and hot-footed it to L.A for a photoshoot.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star, Olivia, was previously accused of having beef with Maura after she posted a cryptic message on Instagram, with some saying she was implying the former ring girl from Ireland was trying to copy her career. And she’s now spoken out about the reality star’s antics at the BRITs, which left much of the showbiz world stunned.
When asked what she made of the incident, having been at the same party as Danny and Maura, Olivia told the Mail: “It’s not nice for the other party, is it? As much as we all love salacious gossip, there is a wife and child on the other end of that.”
Olivia was forced to deny she bore any ill will toward Maura after taking to social media with a curious message last year. Reports of a feud between the pair surfaced in November, when Olivia posted: “You can try to hire all the same people, regurgitate my stories as your own, study the playbook, follow the recipe blah blah blah, but it will NEVER taste the same”, seeming to imply Maura was ‘copying’ her career path.
However, insisting the post was “nothing to do” with the Love Island star, Olivia said, cryptically: “That was nothing to do with Maura. I can’t go: ‘She hasn’t followed the same path’. because evidently there’s a massive similarity. But I don’t have negative feelings towards her – there’s space for everyone in this industry.”
Insisting she’s not worried ‘someone will come and take her shows’, she added: “They can maybe make their own version, but they can’t fire me from something that’s got my name on it. It’s a very privileged position to be in.”
Maura also appears to be in a very privileged position, having jetted off to California for the Coachella Festival, where she was seen mingling with A-listers, including Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner
Posting a snap of herself hovering next to the ultimate influencers, Maura gushed in her caption: “Does that mean we’re besties now?”
Danny, meanwhile, is back in Blighty, reportedly repairing his relationship with his wife, Georgia, with whom he shares son, Cooper, seven with.
Two weeks after the scandal surrounding him and Maura broke, he took to Instagram, saying: “Hello everyone, sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me.
“I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.
“I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.”
