“Justin Bieber Drops Surprise Album ‘Swag II’ in Early Morning Release”

-

Justin Bieber has surprised fans with his latest release. Following the low-key launch of his first album in four years, “Swag,” back in July, the pop star has now dropped its companion album, “Swag II,” in a similar manner.

The announcement for “Swag II” came less than 24 hours before its release, hitting the music scene in the early hours of the morning (around 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT). Fans awoke to a collection of 23 new songs that further expanded on the themes of the original album.

While dealing with personal struggles such as marriage and parenthood, Bieber’s “Swag II” leans more towards his signature pop and R&B style compared to the experimental sound of “Swag.” Some fans have likened this album to a mature version of Bieber’s 2014 release, “Journals,” which marked his transition into R&B music.

Both “Swag I” and “II” were crafted simultaneously, featuring a lineup of familiar songwriters and producers. The albums boast contributions from Carter Lang, Sir Dylan, Eddie Benjamin, Daniel Chetrit, Dijon, Mk.gee, and Canadian musician Tobias Jesso Jr. Notable new collaborators include Buddy Ross, Will Miller, and Mike-Will-Made-It.

In addition to Lil B and Eddie Benjamin, Bieber welcomes fresh faces like Bakar, Tems, and Hurricane Chris as featured artists on “Swag II.” The album showcases Bieber’s vocal range, particularly shining on tracks like “Need It,” co-written by an ensemble of talented artists.

Listeners will notice Bieber channeling a Michael Jackson-inspired vocal style throughout the record, drawing comparisons to the late King of Pop. Standout tracks on “Swag II” include the energetic “Speed Demon,” the soulful “Witchya,” the catchy “Love Song,” and the introspective “Moving Fast.”

Reflecting on his extensive career, Bieber seamlessly transitions between ’90s pop, alt-R&B, and hints of bluegrass across “Swag II,” embodying the diverse musical influences he has absorbed over his 16-year journey in the music industry.
