Pop sensation Justin Bieber has stepped away from streetwear brand Drew House, but his motives for doing so have been questioned. The singer, 31, revealed earlier this month he is no longer affiliated with the company and advised his fans to stop spending their money on the products.
Justin said the brand, known for its yellow smiley face logo, did not “represent” him anymore. He had helped release the brand with Ryan Good in 2019. Scooter Braun, Churchome Pastor Judah Smith and David Bolno were all on the board too.
However, Ryan – who was once Justin’s road manager – seem to have gone their separate ways, with Justin not following him on Instagram anymore. And there was allegedly a big disagreement at board level that led to Justin’s exit.
Revealing his exit from the company, Justin had posted a screenshot of the Drew House Instagram page and wrote a couple of captions confirming that he no longer has anything to do with the brand. He said in a now-deleted post: “I JUSTIN BIEBER AM NO LONGER INVOLVED IN THIS BRAND. DREWHOUSE DOESNT REPRESENT ME OR MY FAMILY OR LIFE.”
He continued to write: “IF YOUR ROCKING WITH ME THE HUMAN JUSTIN BIEBER DONT WASTE UR MONEY ON DREWHOUSE.”
And now sources claim there was a fallout at board level which started brewing in 2023. At the time, Bolno was mentioned in news reports as a person of interest in the death of aspiring singer Laura Lozano. He was later cleared by police.
It’s claimed Justin wanted to remove David from his position, but Scooter and David refused. However, sources told TMZ there was never a single time when Justin lost a board vote.
Since its launch, Drew House has collaborated with Drew Barrymore, Crocs, the NHL and more. Justin recently revealed his new fashion line SKYLRK, taking to social media to showcase the band.
In a video posted on his Instagram, an animated Justin was riding a scooter to a house and as he enters, a Drew House logo is framed on a wall.
Justin’s eyes fall to a bear from the 2019 brand that was on laying on a Drew House water float in a pool.
Fans of Justin were also left concerned during his recent appearance at Coachella music festival. A TikTok clip of the Baby hitmaker attending the annual event found its way back online and showed Justin seemingly struggling.
The musician was seen slumped over long before the end of the trendy bash and he looked disoriented while he sat down in a grey hoodie.
One user said he looks ‘broken’ – while others questioned why someone wasn’t with him in the VIP section.
