“Sky NOW Platform Users Face £3 Monthly Price Hike”

-

Earlier this year, major Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the UK announced price increases that would take effect in April, impacting customers with higher costs. Among the providers raising prices was Sky, which decided to raise monthly bills by approximately 6 per cent. In a recent development, Sky has revealed an additional price hike affecting users of its NOW platform.

This new increase specifically targets customers accessing the web through the NOW platform, resulting in a £3 rise in their bills.

Effective from July 4, 2025, the price adjustment will impact subscribers to services like Brilliant Broadband, Fab Fibre, and Super Fibre.

Acknowledging the inconvenience of price hikes, a spokesperson from NOW stated, “We understand that price increases are never welcome. However, to continue enhancing and investing in our services, pricing adjustments are necessary. Starting July 4th, the monthly fees for our legacy Broadband products on NOW, including Fab Fibre, Super Fibre, and Brilliant Broadband plans, will each increase by £3.”

Despite the dissatisfaction that may arise from increased costs, NOW is offering an option for its customers. The ISP is notifying customers well in advance, providing at least 31 days’ notice regarding the changes.

In contrast to other providers that enforce contract obligations, NOW is allowing users the freedom to switch without penalties within 31 days of being informed about the price hike.

Therefore, if customers receive notification from NOW in the following weeks and wish to avoid the extra £3 charges, they have the option to explore other providers without concerns about early termination fees.

Why are prices increasing?

NOW attributes these price adjustments to the investments made to enhance their products and services. Additionally, the service provider cites escalating cost pressures across various aspects such as wholesale costs and ongoing service improvements.

Even for individuals not subscribed to NOW, it is advisable to explore different options available in the market. In addition to traditional providers like BT, Virgin, and Sky, numerous smaller alternative networks are emerging in the UK, often offering faster speeds at competitive prices.
