Reba McEntire recently shared insights into how her step-grandchildren are handling the passing of their father, Brandon Blackstock, who had children with Kelly Clarkson and passed away at the age of 48 in August.
During the Emmys red carpet event, the country singer discussed how Brandon’s children are coping with the loss. She mentioned that the kids are supporting each other, spending time together, and taking things day by day, expressing faith in God’s guidance.
Brandon had a total of four children – Savannah, 23, and Seth, 18, from his first marriage, and River Rose, 11, and Remy, 9, with Kelly, whom he was divorced from before his death.
Reba, who was Brandon’s stepmother during her marriage to Narvel from 1989 to 2015, stated that Shelby Blackstock, Brandon’s brother and her son, is also doing well.
Brandon, a talent manager, battled melanoma for over three years before passing away on August 7. His family confirmed the news with a statement expressing gratitude for the support and requesting privacy during the difficult time.
While Reba did not publicly tribute Brandon, she responded to an emotional Instagram post from her son affirming their loss. Additionally, Reba discreetly confirmed her engagement to long-time boyfriend Rex Linn, who she has been with since 2020, during an interview at the Emmys.
