Madonna, renowned as the “Queen of Pop,” is making a triumphant return to Warner Records, the label that played a pivotal role in her early success. After a hiatus of nearly two decades, the 67-year-old music icon has officially re-signed with the company responsible for some of her most memorable albums.
This announcement signifies a significant moment for Madonna, who had previously departed from Warner in 2007 to pursue a groundbreaking deal with Live Nation. Now, she is reuniting with the team that handled the distribution of several of her career-defining works, such as American Life, Confessions on a Dance Floor, and Hard Candy.
Excitedly sharing the news with her fans, Madonna took to Instagram to post a series of photos showcasing her in a striking ensemble of gold heels, fishnet tights, and a daring silver sheer dress. In her post, she expressed her joy at returning to Warner Records, stating, “It Feels like home with Warner Records. Back to music, Back to the Dance Floor Back to where it all began.”
In addition to the announcement, Madonna revealed that her upcoming album, titled COADF – P. 2, is slated for release in 2026. The album will see her collaborating once again with DJ Stuart Price, who was behind her hit record Confessions on a Dance Floor in 2005.
Reflecting on her illustrious career, Madonna remarked, “From my humble beginnings as an aspiring artist in New York City to signing a record deal to release just three singles, it felt like my world would never be the same again, and indeed, that turned out to be true.”
Expressing her enthusiasm for the future, Madonna acknowledged Warner Records as a longstanding partner in her musical journey. She eagerly anticipates creating new music, pushing boundaries, and sparking important conversations.
This forthcoming album will mark Madonna’s first studio release in seven years, following the success of her 2019 album, Madame X, which garnered praise from her global fan base.
Following the announcement, Warner Records executives Tom Corson and Aaron Bay-Schuck hailed Madonna’s return as a significant milestone. They praised her as more than just an artist, describing her as a trailblazer who has shaped global pop culture with her innovative and fearless approach to artistry.
Madonna’s relationship with Warner dates back to 1982 when she signed with Sire Records, a Warner imprint. This partnership resulted in her self-titled debut album in 1983, along with chart-topping hits like Like a Virgin in 1984 and Like a Prayer in 1989. After establishing her own label, Maverick, in collaboration with Time Warner in 1992, Madonna concluded her 25-year tenure with Warner in 2008 with the release of Hard Candy.
Nearly two decades later, Madonna is returning to where her remarkable career began, poised to embark on a new chapter as she approaches her milestone 70th birthday.
