More than 4.5 million fans globally applied for tickets in the recent 10-day 2026 World Cup presale event that concluded on Friday, as reported by FIFA. The presale, accessible to Visa cardholders aged 18 and above, marked the initial opportunity for FIFA’s global ticket lottery for the upcoming 48-team, 104-match World Cup set to commence next June.
The majority of applications originated from the three co-host nations, with the U.S. leading, trailed by Mexico and Canada. The remaining top ten countries in application numbers were Germany, England, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Spain, and Italy, in descending order, though specific figures per country were not disclosed by FIFA.
Successful applicants selected via a random draw will receive email notifications starting on September 29. They will be allocated a specific date and time slot to purchase tickets, contingent on availability, with time slots commencing on October 1. FIFA advises that winning the draw does not guarantee ticket availability during the assigned time slot. Prices for group-stage tickets start at $82, with pricing subject to demand fluctuations.
Further ticket draws are scheduled to commence in October. Additionally, fans can already secure hospitality packages. Canadian supporters can also vie for Canada Soccer’s ticket allotment for Canadian team matches by enrolling in the CanadaRed supporters’ group.
The CanadaRed supporters’ group offers seven tiers, ranging from complimentary memberships to $5,000 annually. Higher-tier memberships increase the chances in the Canada Soccer ticket draw. Canada Soccer has yet to disclose the timeline for its ticket draw process.
