Controversial figure Candace Owens made alarming statements targeting Brigitte Macron’s medical history during a heated confrontation with the French first lady. Legal action was taken by Emmanuel Macron and his spouse against Owens, who repeatedly asserted that the 72-year-old was originally male.
In response to the legal dispute, Owens insisted that Brigitte should undergo a medical evaluation by an impartial physician. Owens stated, “We will insist that Brigitte undergo an examination by an independent doctor. We will request access to her medical records.”
On the other hand, Brigitte is preparing to present photographic evidence in a United States court to confirm her gender. The legal representative for the French president and his wife revealed that they will submit the photos as part of their defamation lawsuit against Owens.
The defamation cases, initiated in July, accuse Owens of spreading false and defamatory claims that led to a campaign of public humiliation and bullying. Speaking on the BBC’s Fame Under Fire podcast, lead counsel Tom Clare expressed readiness to prove the falsity of Owens’ allegations through expert scientific testimony.
Tom Clare emphasized the distress caused to the French couple by Owens’ remarks, stating that it was deeply unsettling for them to provide such evidence. Despite this, Brigitte is willing to undergo public scrutiny to set the record straight.
Owens had previously staked her professional reputation on the claim that Brigitte was biologically male. These allegations stem from a baseless conspiracy theory suggesting that Brigitte’s true identity is Jean-Michel Trogneux, her brother’s name.
In response to the legal action, Owens’ legal team sought to dismiss the case, arguing against holding the trial in Delaware due to potential financial and operational difficulties. Owens defended her statements as protected under free speech laws, stating, “This is America, not France, where the Macrons can dictate terms. Foreign leaders cannot circumvent free speech rights.”
