“Trump Jokes about Monument Fatigue During UK Visit”

-

During the conclusion of his state visit to the UK, Donald Trump expressed his fatigue from being shown numerous beautiful sights, as reported by the Mirror. The US President humorously mentioned his intention not to force the King to tour Washington’s monuments during the King’s future visit to the US. These comments were reportedly made during a private event for tech industry leaders at Chequers.

Trump jestingly remarked to tech executives that he had enjoyed witnessing many exquisite landmarks, including Windsor Castle and Chequers, but had reached his limit. He quipped about sparing the King from a tour of the Lincoln Memorial during a state dinner in the US.

In another development, President Trump stirred controversy by criticizing London Mayor Sadiq Khan, insinuating that London was veering towards “shariah law” under Khan’s leadership. These remarks came after Trump’s UK state visit, where he also visited Windsor Castle and Chequers.

Despite the smooth conduct of the state visit, UK officials and No10 were relieved that President Trump behaved well throughout. The visit included a grand military welcome, a carriage ride at Windsor Castle, and a tour of historical US-related items at Chequers, including the Churchill archive.

In a separate event at the United Nations in New York, President Trump launched a scathing tirade against Europe, claiming that countries in the region were deteriorating due to immigration. He also called out London Mayor Sadiq Khan, baselessly alleging his connection to the imposition of Sharia law in London.

In response to Trump’s statements, a spokesperson for Sadiq Khan dismissed the remarks as bigoted and refused to engage. The spokesperson affirmed London’s status as a safe and welcoming city, highlighting the increasing number of US citizens moving to London.
