A recently born infant was discovered abandoned in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, India, with a stone placed in his mouth and his lips sealed together to prevent crying. The defenseless baby was found among rocks and debris, but a vigilant cattle herder managed to remove the obstruction from the child’s mouth, prompting the infant to cry immediately.
The herder and local villagers quickly took the baby to the Bijolia Government Hospital for urgent medical care. Medical professionals at the hospital determined the baby to be around 15 to 20 days old, finding adhesive not only around the baby’s mouth but also on the thighs.
Authorities suspect that the use of glue and the stone was an attempt to silence the baby and avoid attracting attention. Investigators are now examining birth records from nearby medical facilities to identify recent mothers. Local residents are also being questioned as part of the effort to locate the baby’s parents. The police in Rajasthan have confirmed that their investigation is ongoing, with the child receiving ongoing medical attention.

In a different occurrence, a two-day-old baby was found abandoned in a basket outside a girls’ orphanage in Maharashtra, accompanied by a bottle, milk powder sachet, and a note citing mental and financial distress from the parents. Local individuals who found the baby provided immediate care and alerted the authorities for further assistance.
