A young British traveler, Harrison Edward Nada Kontounas, has gone missing while swimming at Legian Beach in Bali. The incident occurred when strong tides swept him away, despite warnings of dangerous water conditions indicated by raised red flags at the beach.
While his companions safely returned to shore, Kontounas struggled against high winds. A coordinated search and rescue effort involving helicopters and boats was immediately launched to locate him.
The Denpasar Search and Rescue Office and other units were deployed to the scene. Officials emphasized caution during outdoor activities, especially beach visits, and initiated a thorough search for the missing individual.
Efforts to find Kontounas continued, with authorities scouring the coastline, although rough sea conditions impeded water-based search operations. Reports from a Facebook group highlighted the perilous nature of the beaches in the area, with one witness describing the challenging search efforts and expressing concern for Kontounas’ well-being.
As of now, Harrison remains unaccounted for, and his status remains uncertain.
