A communication expert skilled in lip-reading has provided insight into the intense conversation between Donald Trump and Melania Trump that garnered widespread attention. The notable video capturing the former US President and First Lady engaged in a heated discussion while aboard Marine One on the South Lawn has gone viral on social media.
The footage quickly circulated online, prompting comparisons to a previous incident involving Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte. In the video, Trump can be seen gesturing towards Melania, who responds with a head shake. Lip-reading specialist Jeremy Freeman has shared his analysis of the dialogue.
According to Jeremy, Trump was likely discussing the “escalator-gate” episode at the United Nations General Assembly rather than expressing frustration towards Melania. Jeremy suggested that Melania mentioned, “You just continued…” to which Trump replied, “It was unbelievable.”
Subsequently, Melania retorted, “Just say it and leave it..” Trump seemed surprised and responded, “How can you do that…” Shortly after, the influential couple exited the helicopter and walked across the lawn hand in hand.
Body language expert Judi James also weighed in, suggesting that the conversation may not have been as contentious as it appeared. She observed contrasting signals in the clip but noted that Melania was smiling while shaking her head, indicating that Trump might have been recounting a lighthearted event from the day, eliciting laughter from Melania.
The escalator incident, where Trump encountered a malfunctioning escalator at the UN General Assembly, led him to reflect on the incident on Truth Social. Trump expressed gratitude that he and Melania avoided a potential mishap due to their tight grip on the handrail.
Earlier in the year, Trump had offered advice to the Macrons following a viral video showing Brigitte pushing Emmanuel Macron.
