Dolly Parton has decided to delay her upcoming Las Vegas residency after facing health issues, marking the first time in 32 years that she has postponed such an event. The renowned country singer shared the news on social media, explaining that she needs to undergo some medical procedures suggested by her doctors. Parton humorously referred to it as her “100,000-mile checkup,” emphasizing that it is necessary for her well-being.
Due to her health concerns, Parton expressed her inability to rehearse adequately for the scheduled shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace and wants to ensure that her performance meets the expectations of her audience. Originally set for December 4 to 13, the performances have been rescheduled to September 2026, coinciding with the National Finals Rodeo. Ticket holders are assured that their tickets will be honored for the new dates, with refund options available.
While assuring fans that she has no intention of retiring from the music industry, Parton believes that this pause is a signal for her to slow down momentarily to prepare for future endeavors. Despite not touring since 2016, she remains active, with plans to release a new book titled “Star of the Show: My Life on Stage” on November 11. Additionally, a Broadway musical inspired by her life story is expected to debut in 2026.
In a recent video announcement, Parton revealed that a health issue prevented her from attending an event at her Dollywood theme park. Earlier this year, she faced the loss of her husband, Carl Dean, after nearly six decades of marriage. Dean, who famously shied away from the limelight, passed away at the age of 82, leaving a lasting impact on Parton’s life and career.
