Dell has announced the revival of its renowned XPS brand after a year-long absence. The decision to discontinue the brand was met with criticism from technology experts and consumers. Responding to feedback, Dell admits its mistake and is reintroducing the XPS lineup, promising an enhanced experience.
The new Windows 11 laptops under the XPS brand have undergone a complete redesign, featuring premium materials like aluminium and Gorilla Glass 3 for a sleek and durable finish. The laptops boast a fresh design with the iconic XPS logo on the lid, a redesigned keyboard for improved stability, and a seamless glass touchpad integrated into the palm rest. Dell has focused on enhancing portability by reducing the weight and thickness of the devices.
The latest XPS models, including the XPS 14 and XPS 16, are now the thinnest laptops in Dell’s lineup at just 14.6mm. The slim profile is achieved in part by a reengineered 4K webcam, the narrowest 8MP camera ever integrated into a Dell laptop. Performance has been significantly upgraded with Intel’s latest Ultra processors, offering faster speeds, better graphics performance, and increased efficiency. The thermal system has also been revamped to manage temperatures effectively, even during demanding tasks.
Intel Arc graphics, featuring 12 cores, deliver a 50% performance boost over the previous generation, enhancing graphics capabilities. Battery life is a standout feature, with high-density 900ED cells providing up to 27 hours of usage on a single charge, ensuring uninterrupted use of the vibrant display.
Additional features of the new XPS laptops include edge-to-edge touch displays, powerful Dolby Atmos speakers, and a variety of ports for enhanced connectivity. Dell unveiled the XPS 14 and XPS 16 at CES 2026, emphasizing their commitment to delivering premium laptops with striking design, powerful performance, stunning displays, and exceptional battery life in a compact, portable device.
