Mystery shrouds the circumstances surrounding the deaths of a social media influencer and her teenage daughter in Rio de Janeiro.
Lidiane Lorenço, aged 33, and her 15-year-old daughter Miana Sophya were discovered deceased in their residence in Barra da Tijuca, located in the southwest of the city, on October 10. Authorities found Lidiane in one of the bedrooms and Miana in the living room, with no apparent signs of violence on their bodies, as reported by Brazilian media referencing the local police department, 16th DP.
The family’s legal representative mentioned that the recent forensic investigation has raised more uncertainties than answers regarding the case. According to G1, lawyer Rodrigo Moulin stated that the police are exercising caution and refraining from ruling out any possibilities, leading to further complexities in the inquiry.
Following a three-hour forensic examination, Moulin highlighted that the only confirmed irregularity was related to the gas installations within the apartment. He noted that the heating system was installed improperly, with the gas outlet from the chimney situated inside the living space.
Moreover, Moulin emphasized that the police are exploring various hypotheses, including food-related factors, and await the forensic test results to reach a conclusive determination. The circumstances surrounding the deaths of Lidiane and Miana remain inconclusive.
Lidiane had relocated to Rio a few years back to pursue medical studies and engage in modeling and social media influencing. Miana had moved from SĂ£o Paulo, where she previously attended EEB IrmĂ£ Irene school, to reside with her mother in Rio.
After the bodies were discovered, local police informed G1 that the forensic analysis found no indications of physical assault at the scene.
Moulin pointed out that the cause of death for the mother and daughter, considering their underlying health conditions, will be discerned from the death certificate. Lidiane had thrombophilia, a condition that heightens the risk of blood clot formation, while Miana had hemophilia, a rare disorder affecting blood clotting due to a deficiency in clotting proteins, as reported by G1.
The lawyer added that there were suspicions that Miana may have passed away before Lidiane, given the advanced state of decomposition of her body compared to Lidiane’s.
