The banter between Toronto and Seattle expanded beyond baseball on Saturday, as Seattle’s hockey team playfully teased Toronto Blue Jays fans. The Seattle Kraken showed support for their city’s baseball team by wearing Seattle Mariners jerseys at Scotiabank Arena before Game 6 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) against the Blue Jays.
In addition to their attire, the Kraken took their teasing to social media with messages like “walk in the 6ix, takeover the 6ix” and “SEATTLE OVER EVERYBODY.”
Following their playful gesture, the Kraken went on to defeat the Maple Leafs 4-3 on the ice. The Mariners currently lead the best-of-seven series 3-2 after a strong offensive performance secured a 6-2 win over the Blue Jays in Game 5 on Friday.
The Blue Jays will face Seattle in a crucial Game 6 at Rogers Centre on Sunday night, aiming to stay alive in the series.
