Apple has unveiled a new software update designed to promote creativity among users. The tech giant from the US is introducing Creative Studio, a platform that grants MacBook and iPad owners access to premium software at a significantly reduced monthly cost.

This service provides full access to professional applications like Final Cut Pro for video editing, Logic Pro for music creation, and Pixelmator Pro as an alternative to Adobe’s Photoshop.

Upon its launch later this month, Apple customers will be able to subscribe to the service for £12.99 per month or £129 per year, offering a compelling value given the software included in the package.

Individually, Final Cut Pro is priced at £300 on the App Store, while Logic Pro costs £200 for download.

By offering these tools on a subscription basis, Apple aims to make them more attainable for a wider audience.

Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, stated, “Apple Creator Studio is a great value that enables creators of all types to pursue their craft and enhance their skills by providing easy access to powerful tools for video editing, music production, creative imaging, and visual productivity, all enhanced with advanced intelligent features to streamline workflows.”

Creative Studio also features additional bonuses, including MainStage, which transforms Mac devices into instruments, voice processors, or guitar rigs.

Furthermore, Motion, a robust graphics tool for creating cinematic 2D and 3D effects, is included with features like Magnetic Mask for effortless isolation and tracking of people and objects without a green screen.

Subscribers will also enjoy enhanced features and premium content for Keynote, Pages, Numbers, as well as Freeform for iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices coming later this year.

While Keynote, Pages, and Numbers remain free, they will receive improvements for Creative Studio subscribers.

Cue added, “There has never been a more flexible and accessible way to access such a powerful collection of creative apps for professionals, emerging artists, entrepreneurs, students, and educators to excel in their work and explore their creative passions from beginning to end.”

Apple Creator Studio will be accessible on the App Store starting on Wednesday, January 28, with a one-month free trial available to everyone. Additionally, purchasers of a MacBook or iPad will receive a three-month trial period.

Apple has also announced discounted rates for university students, offering this software bundle at just £2.99 per month or £29.99 per year.
