Former footballer Paul Gascoigne expressed his deep sorrow upon learning about the passing of his close friend, boxer Ricky Hatton. Hatton was discovered deceased in his residence in Manchester, leaving the sports community in a state of mourning. The renowned boxer was laid to rest at Manchester Cathedral, where numerous individuals gathered to pay their respects. Reports from an investigation indicated that Hatton had been found hanging.

A dedicated fan of Manchester City, Hatton had strong ties to the football world beyond just being a spectator. He and Gascoigne, a former England star, collaborated on a speaking tour and formed a bond over their similar personalities.

Gascoigne reminisced about their time together, highlighting Hatton’s generosity and humor. Hatton, known for his down-to-earth demeanor, amassed an impressive boxing record of 45 wins and three losses. However, it was his genuine character that endeared him to countless fans and supporters.

Following Hatton’s tragic death, his family released a heartfelt statement, portraying him as more than just a boxing champion but as a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Despite his past struggles with suicidal thoughts and addiction, his family affirmed that he was in a positive state before his passing.
