Apple has had a hectic week unveiling a range of new products, including the iPhone 17e, upgraded iPad Air, and new MacBook Pro models with M5 processors. Now, the tech giant has announced the MacBook Neo, a budget-friendly laptop that boasts a colorful design, impressive performance, and a high-resolution 13-inch screen priced at just £599.
Compared to the latest MacBook Air, the Neo comes at a significantly lower cost of £500. This laptop is powered by Apple’s A18 Pro-series smartphone processor, offering adequate performance for everyday tasks despite not matching the speed of M-powered PCs. Running on macOS, the MacBook Neo provides access to popular applications like Microsoft Word, Pages, and iMovie.
In addition to its efficiency, the laptop offers over 15 hours of battery life on a single charge. It comes equipped with two USB-C ports but lacks MagSafe charging. Other features include a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, Touch ID fingerprint scanner, dual side-firing speakers with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos support, a Magic Keyboard, Multi-Touch trackpad, and color options of Silver, Indigo, Blush, and Citrus.
The MacBook Neo is now available for pre-order and is set to hit stores next week. Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, expressed excitement about the launch, emphasizing the laptop’s affordability and unique features that cater to a wider audience.
