“Cincinnati Bengals Count on Canadian Star Chase Brown’s Ascension”

-

After establishing himself as one of the top running backs in the latter part of the previous season, the Cincinnati Bengals are eager to see Canadian player Chase Brown take on a more significant role this year.

Describing Brown as a top-10 back in the league, offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher emphasized the importance of managing his workload while ensuring he remains a key playmaker on the field. Brown showcased his skills between Week 9 and Week 17 last season, ranking fifth in yards gained and third in touches league-wide. Unfortunately, he missed the final game due to an ankle injury.

Previously a backup to Zack Moss, Brown’s versatility as a pass catcher led to increased playing time, where he excelled. By the end of the season, Brown accumulated 1,350 scrimmage yards, with 990 rushing yards and 360 receiving yards.

Reflecting on his progress, Brown expressed increased confidence in his abilities as a rusher and pass catcher this season. He highlighted his enhanced performance in training camp and the preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite a strong showing in the game, the Bengals ultimately fell short, losing 34-27.

Looking ahead, the Bengals are tailoring their offensive strategy to capitalize on Brown’s strengths. Coach Justin Hill emphasized the team’s focus on optimizing the run game around Brown’s skill set, acknowledging the importance of showcasing his talents effectively.

The Bengals will continue to fine-tune their approach as they prepare for their next preseason matchup against Washington on Monday night. Safety Geno Stone praised Brown’s speed, versatility, and balance, underscoring his impact on the team’s evolving offensive scheme.
