Nexstar Media Group announced the indefinite suspension of airing “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on its ABC affiliates after the host made controversial remarks following the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The network deemed Jimmy Kimmel’s comments regarding Charlie Kirk’s death as offensive and lacking sensitivity during a crucial period in national political discussions. Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar’s broadcasting division, expressed this decision.
On the same day, Brendan Carr, Chair of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, recommended that local broadcasters cease broadcasting the show on Disney-owned ABC.
