Angellica Bell’s friend explains CBB star’s ‘strange’ feud with Patsy Palmer

Must read

Angellica Bell‘s close friend and former CBBC co-host Andrew Hayden- Smith has shared his thoughts on the star’s ‘feud’ with her Celebrity Big Brother housemate Patsy Palmer. Viewers started speculating a brewing feud between the pair when Angellica got upset at Patsy for not asking she was after Hollywood star Mickey Rourke made the housemates uncomfortable following his sexual comment towards TOWIE star Ella Rae Wise.

The two made amends pretty quickly but during Thursday night’s episode the pair had an unexpected clash over brown sugar – resulting to them both nominating each other.

Speaking to the Mirror in an exclusive chat, Andrew told us how he finds the whole thing “strange” as Angellica and Patsy had met prior to the show.

“The Patsy thing is strange one because I knew she’d met Patsy before in the past and when they went in, things, things were fine,” he said. “I think it’s since that thing where Patsy didn’t ask Angellica how she was where it started. I don’t know, but then last night with the with the brown sugar that was a strange reason for Patsy to nominate her.”

Andrew also revealed that he thought Angellica wasn’t too fond of Love Island star Chris Hughes at the start of the series. “I wondered if she wasn’t Chris’s biggest fan, but then I saw them hugging last night, so you just don’t know really, do you?” he said.

Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa’s ‘close friendship’ has been a huge talking point during this series, but Andrew thinks Chris’ feelings may run deeper than just friendship.

“It’s a funny one, isn’t it?” the former Hollyoaks star said. “I think that JoJo just sees Chris as a mate. I don’t know if there’s more on Chris’ part. It’s a strange one, I think everyone’s a bit confused by it.”

Like any avid Celebrity Big Brother fan, Andrew is desperate to find out what Angellica really thinks about her fellow housemates. “I have been watching closely to see what she really thinks about people,” he said. ” I’m really looking forward to speaking to her when she comes out and finds out exactly what she does think.”

Aside from feuds in the house – Angellica made headlines last year when she was unexpectedly dropped from The Martin Lewis Money Show after a six year stint. Angellica had worked on the BAFTA-nominated finance show since 2017, and signed up to present the rebranded version of The Gadget Show – Shop Smart, Save Money.

However, when it was reported that the move presented a ‘conflict of interest’, due to it becoming another consumer money programme, Angellica was swiftly axed from the ITV show. She was then replaced by former Olympian Jeanette Kwakye.

Angellica’s husband Michael Underwood recently hinted that Angellica would open up on the matter. Andrew has now echoed that statement, claiming Angelica told him she was willing to address what really happened.

I did ask her if she would address it,” Andrew said. “And she said ‘yeah, if it comes up in conversation’. It happened, you know?”

ITV said at the time: “Angellica is not working on the Martin Lewis Money Show Live, however, the relationship with her remains amicable and we are working with her on other forthcoming programmes.”

In emotional scenes which aired last week, viewers saw Angellica get emotional as she celebrated 25 years in the industry. Asked if he thinks his friend will make it all the way, Andrew said: “She’s enjoying it now, and with her celebrating 25 years as a presenter inside the house, it’d be such a lovely way to top that off.”
