A Blue Bloods star has spilled the beans on the props he nabbed from the CBS set after the hit show wrapped up following a 14-year run.
The much-loved police drama Blue Bloods, which graced CBS screens for over a decade, charted the lives of the Reagan family, with patriarch and New York police commissioner Frank Reagan (portrayed by Tom Selleck) at its core.
The show didn’t just probe into their professional and personal lives but also brought viewers to Frank’s house, where every episode culminated around the dining table, with the Reagans dissecting the week’s happenings.
This tradition became iconic, making the series finale all the more poignant as it concluded with the extended family seated around that famous table one final time.
However, when it was time to part with the set, Danny Reagan actor Donnie Wahlberg walked away with more than just sweet memories.
In an interview with People, he revealed: “I really had no intention of taking anything from the set until I learned that that table and chairs was just sitting in a warehouse somewhere.”
At age 55, Wahlberg shared the exciting prospect that fans will see the legendary Blue Bloods dining set once again, as he plans to move it among the Wahlburgers diners—a chain owned with his brother and fellow actor Mark Wahlberg.
“I’ll set it up where fans can sit at the table and take pictures,” Wahlberg noted. He’s set to place the cherished table and chairs first at their eatery in St Charles, Illinois, where he and wife Jenny McCarthy call home.
The Wahlbergers’ eateries won’t be keeping the Blue Bloods props for good, though.
The celeb clarified: “I’m going to raffle it probably for charity for the DEA, the Detectives Endowment Association, for the Widows and Children’s Fund.”
There’s no word yet on when the table and chairs will go under the hammer, but they’re expected to fetch a tidy sum for the noble cause.
Not just content with the dining room set, Wahlberg also snagged a couple of his character’s suits, which he plans to display on mannequins at Wahlberger’s.
