Police have discovered a body believed to be that of a British man who disappeared on the Costa del Sol last month. Andrew Wade, aged 65, was last seen on August 15 near Marbella, and concerns were raised by friends about his well-being after he left his residence. The body, suspected to be Wade’s, was found in the Paraiso area near Estepona by National Police officers who had been involved in the search operation.
A police spokesperson mentioned that an extensive search operation was conducted by the National Police, Civil Protection members, and the Estepona Fire Brigade to locate the missing British citizen. Investigations revealed that Wade was planning to return to his home country. Following thorough analysis of his last known movements, a search was carried out in the Paraiso area, where the body was eventually located. Confirmation of the identity and cause of death is still pending.
Sources indicated that the body is assumed to be that of Mr. Wade. Reports from when he went missing highlighted that he had left his two cats behind, which was uncharacteristic of him. An acquaintance described him as a “lovely” person. SOS Desaparecidos, a Spanish charity, appealed for any information regarding his disappearance. It was noted that at the time of his disappearance, he might have been driving a black Volkswagen Golf.
