-

A British tourist who went missing while swimming with friends at Leigan Beach, Kuta in Bali has tragically been discovered deceased. Harrison Edward Nada-Kantounas, a 23-year-old from East London, was swept away by a strong rip current on September 17 and did not resurface.

Officials confirmed today that Harrison’s body was found with head injuries, including a broken nose. His family expressed deep sorrow, stating that Harrison’s body was recovered approximately two miles offshore from where he was last seen. They described him as a bright, kind, and loving individual, emphasizing the devastating impact his absence has had on their lives.

His mother extended gratitude to those who supported them during this challenging time, acknowledging the kindness and generosity shown by both strangers in Bali and people worldwide who contributed. Friends fondly remembered Harrison for his humor and warmth, while one close friend criticized the response of lifeguards and emergency services, alleging a delayed reaction to the situation.

The friend recounted the distressing experience, highlighting the lack of immediate action from lifeguards and the delayed arrival of rescue teams with minimal equipment. Despite conflicting reports on the placement of red flags, the friend claimed that the response was inadequate, leading to tragic consequences.

Authorities from the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office reminded the public to exercise caution during outdoor activities, especially beach-related pursuits. Following Harrison’s tragic incident, a GoFundMe campaign has raised over £27,000 in his honor, reflecting the outpouring of support for his family and friends during this difficult time.
