A tragic incident unfolded in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district, India, where a five-year-old boy named Vikas was brutally beheaded in front of his mother by a man identified as Mahesh Mada, aged 25. Mahesh, who had been missing from his home for nearly four days, entered the family’s house and without any provocation, grabbed a sharp spade and launched a vicious attack on the young boy, severing his neck from his body. The boy’s mother, Kalu Singh, sustained injuries as she tried to save her son, with locals responding to her distress calls.
Following the heinous act, an enraged crowd apprehended Mahesh, who remained silent throughout the attack, and subjected him to physical assault. Despite being tied up and beaten, Mahesh succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital. Police investigations revealed that Mahesh appeared to be mentally unstable, with no known connections or motives for the brutal crime. Authorities have initiated a judicial inquiry to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Superintendent Mayank Awasthi stated that further details on the case would be provided after the post-mortem report. He confirmed that the accused had displayed signs of mental instability and had been promptly arrested after the incident. Notably, Mahesh’s erratic behavior had raised concerns among villagers, prompting his family to seek medical attention for him. Tragically, his condition deteriorated despite ongoing treatment, leading to the fatal events that transpired.
Moreover, it was noted that Mahesh’s presence in the village went unnoticed by locals prior to the attack, despite his family’s search efforts. His erratic behavior had previously raised suspicions about his mental well-being, prompting his hospitalization for treatment. The police underscored that no prior animosity or interactions existed between the perpetrator and the victim’s family, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation into the shocking crime.
