“Canada and USA to Co-Host 2027 Women’s World Volleyball Championship”

-

Canada and the United States have announced their collaboration to host the 2027 women’s world volleyball championship. The final matches are set to take place in Anaheim, California, as confirmed by Volleyball Canada, USA Volleyball, and the FIVB on Friday. Details regarding four additional host cities for the pool play and Round of 16, along with the tournament schedule, will be disclosed in the future.

This will be a historic occasion as it will be the first time that both Canada and the U.S. will be hosting this prestigious tournament. The event will involve two Canadian and two American cities hosting the pool play and Round of 16 matches in the 32-country competition. In the previous 2025 world championship held in Thailand, the U.S. secured a fifth-place finish, whereas Canada ended in 15th place.

Mark Eckert, President, and CEO of Volleyball Canada expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event, stating, “The growth of volleyball and interest in women’s sports create an ideal environment to bring this display of the highest level of our sport to North American fans for the first time ever. We’re very excited to build on our knowledge of hosting major events, such as Volleyball Nations League, and take the athlete and spectator experience to the next level.”
