“Canada Soccer Seeks Clarity Amid Venue Uncertainty”

-

Canada Soccer is currently seeking clarification following a notification that was issued to ticket-holders for the national team’s planned friendly match against Venezuela on November 18 at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The cancellation notice from the stadium raised concerns, but Canada Soccer has been informed by the Venezuelan Football Association and the match promoter that the game is still scheduled to take place and that the cancellation notice was premature.

Despite this, the possibility of a venue change is being considered. Canada Soccer emphasized their willingness to collaborate with all involved parties to find the best solutions for the men’s national team in preparation for the upcoming World Cup. They also expressed worries about the potential disruptions a venue change might cause for Canadian supporters who have already made travel arrangements.

Both Canada (ranked 28th) and Venezuela (ranked 46th) have matches scheduled earlier in the November FIFA window. Canada will face Ecuador (ranked 25th) on November 10 at BMO Field in Toronto, while Venezuela will play against Nigeria (ranked 44th) at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston.
