Chris Hughes’ brother Ben has defended the Celebrity Big Brother star after his fellow housemates accused him of playing a game with JoJo Siwa – and slammed Ella Rae Wise as “jealous” over her comments. Last night’s Late and Live episode saw Chris break down in tears after exiting star Daley Thompson told the housemates to be wary of Chris and JoJo.
Speaking to Lorraine’s Christine Lampard today, Ben spoke about watching the upsetting scenes. “It’s not very nice seeing your little brother upset about people accusing him of something which he’s not doing. So yes, it’s not very nice at the moment to watch,” he said.
When asked about Chris and JoJo’s tactile relationship, Ben said: “I still strongly feel that they’ve just bonded so well in such an intense environment. Even Chris said it yesterday and I’ve been saying it from the start, they have a similar energy. They are just two very similar people who have bonded from the start and have a great friendship.”
As for Ella’s digs about Chris and JoJo’s bond, he said: “In my personal point of view, I think she got a little bit jealous of the friendship between Chris and JoJo.
“She did wonder why she wasn’t part of that friendship due to them being a younger age, a lot younger than most in the house. But I do believe that Daley has left the biggest bombshell and blown things out of the water.”
Tonight’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother will see Chris open up in the diary room about his fellow housemates turning on him. Speaking to Big Brother, he said while crying: “I’m literally in here, I’m just living, I’m just being me. I had toxic stuff and I had bad energy, it just brings you down.”
In last night’s episode, viewers watched as Daley told Ella before leaving: “I have got no advice for you. Except…I know it’s difficult if you are struggling to be heard, put your hand up. Because there’s some people that are really loud and there’s some people that do this professionally as a game.”
Daley continued: “There’s two people in here that do it all of the time. I think on the cameras, people will be interested in their relationship.”
Ella then shared her concerns with Danny Beard and Donna Preston, saying: “Daley just basically said that you’ve got to be careful. There are two reality stars in here that do reality every single day.
“He said they know what they’re doing, if they pair up, they’re going to take a lot of air time from people. And it’s going to be very fixated on them both. And just to be mindful.”
