In the UK, Easter Sunday is classed as a public holiday – like Christmas Day – and under trading rules larger shops that are over 280 sq meters need to close on this day. Over the weekend, this was the case for the majority if major of UK supermarket chains.

With shops reopening today, many Brits will be venturing out to pick up the odd bits they may have run out of over the Easter bank holiday weekend. Others may want to pop to their local to check for any discounts on Easter treats such as chocolate eggs and hot cross buns.
