Emmerdale tease chilling Ella Forster twist as villain ‘to return’ in surprise scenes

Must read

Ella Forster could make a surprise return to Emmerdale after her reign of terror ended. The character – played by Paula Lane – was arrested and taken away after a showdown with her ex Liam Cavanagh.

On tonight’s episode, Mandy Dingle, Chas Dingle and Liam Cavanagh discussed Ella’s moment in the forest. She was in tears as she promised she would change, before later being led away by police.

As they reflected on what had happened tonight, Mandy told Chas: “I was her only friend when she came to this village. I put a roof over her head, I defended her so many times and now – I’m so sorry, I’ve been such an idiot.”

Liam then appeared in the room, sharing: “I just spoke to the police. I had hope she’d tell the truth but she’s maintaining her innocence. What she did yesterday, it was just the actions of a desperate woman with nothing left to lose. She needs help Mandy.”

“Ella has completely lost control. None of us our safe,” Chas said as Liam suggested they would withdraw our police statements. Chas then insisted that Ella needed “punishing” for what she has done.

Liam then added: “We all know how damaged she is. Prison hasn’t helped. If we put her back inside then that’s it for her – her life is over. She’ll be even worse than she is now. We all know what it’s like to feel unloved but Ella never really got the chance to grow up. It’s a thousand times worse for her. Ella needs proper rehabilitation.

“If we put her back in prison, it’s just a temporary fix. Even if she goes down for this, then she’s going to be released sometime soon and we’ll be looking over our shoulders for the rest of our lives. If she gets proper professional help now, that is a permanent solution.”

Could this lead to a return for Ella despite her being locked up during last night’s episode?

Paula Lane – who played Ella – spoke out about her exit. She said: “I just wanted to say I have had a lovely time here. I’ve met some wonderful people and I will really, really cherish the experience. I want to thank you all for your lovely support and messages and I hope you get to see me on some new dramas in the future. Or on stage, or wherever life now takes me in my career.

“But honestly everything is all positive, there’s no negatives to spin on this. She is a brilliant character, and never say never. Who knows. Lots of love from me, over and out.”
