Francis Ford Coppola Recovering After Rome Medical Procedure

-

Renowned American filmmaker, Francis Ford Coppola, known for directing iconic movies such as “The Godfather” series and “Apocalypse Now,” recently underwent a planned medical procedure at a hospital in Rome. According to his U.S.-based representative, Coppola had the procedure with his long-time physician, Dr. Andrea Natale, and is currently in stable condition. The 86-year-old director was admitted to the Policlinico Tor Vergata hospital in Rome for the procedure, which was not an emergency. Coppola himself shared a reassuring message on Instagram, stating that he is well and undergoing an update for a 30-year-old medical issue with Dr. Andrea Natale, referring to himself as “Da Dada.” Reports suggesting that Coppola experienced atrial fibrillation before the procedure were denied by his representative. Coppola, who was in Italy to promote his latest film “Megalopolis,” a sci-fi epic set in a futuristic New York City, had faced mixed reviews and box office challenges following its debut at the Cannes Film Festival. The film reportedly had a special showing at the Magna Graecia Film Festival in Catanzaro, Italy.
