Good Morning Britain guest pulls out of interview as host announces ‘sad’ news

Must read

Keith Duffy was forced to pull out of Friday’s interview on Good Morning Britain due to a heartbreaking reason.

Hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins had geared up for a chat with Boyzlife duo Brian McFadden and Keith, 50, about their new single.

Yet sadly only Brian, 45, carried the interview as Charlotte, 49, shared the reason behind Keith’s absence.

She told viewers: “Well, Brian McFadden joins us now, good morning to you, and Keith was going to be here but we know he’s just had a bereavement so he’s not with us today.”

Brian explained: “Yes he was, he’s lost one of his friends, so he’s gone back to Ireland” prompting Charlotte to express: “I’m sorry, sending our love in that case!” Keith has yet to address the sad news himself, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Westlife’s Brian and Boyzone’s Keith have joined forces to become Boyzlife, as they still delight fans on tour and have released their new single Save The Day on Friday 25 April, which celebrates unsung heroes that are always there when they’re needed most.

Boyzlife took to Instagram on Friday to celebrate the arrival of ‘Save The Day.’ Accompanied by an AI-animated video snippet, they wrote: “OUT NOW “Save The Day”…”

Their caption continued: “A powerful tribute to hope, bravery & the everyday heroes all around us. True heroes are closer than we think. Let this song be your reminder.

“Our groundbreaking video is brought to life entirely through AI animation, showcasing the future of creative storytelling. Enjoy” with a heart emoji.

Their 339,000 followers responded enthusiastically, with comments such as “It’s absolutely fantastic unreal”, “Love this song so much” with heart eye emojis, and “I really like the new song, I feel like it’s going to be one of my favorites. Congratulations to the boys, they did an amazing job.”

Other fans chimed in with praise, saying “Beautiful song and so true”, “My daughter is training to be a nurse for the NHS. Love the music and the video”, and “I enjoyed listening I love it! Thank you lads!” with a heart emoji.

Brian, formerly of Westlife, and Keith, formerly of Boyzone, formed Boyzlife in 2016, bringing together their talents after successful music careers.

Brian was part of Westlife from 1998 to 2004, while Keith was part of Boyzone from 1993 to 2000, before pursuing acting and joining Coronation Street as Ciaran McCarthy from 2002 to 2011.

Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV X.
