The Los Angeles Police Department reported on Monday that Nick Reiner, the son of renowned Hollywood actor and filmmaker Rob Reiner, has been arrested and charged with the murder of his parents. The tragic incident occurred over the weekend when Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele, 70, were discovered deceased in their residence in the upscale Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Nick Reiner, 32, who had been grappling with substance abuse issues, was taken into custody on Sunday night and is currently held in jail without bail. Initial jail documents had indicated a bail amount of $4 million US.
Authorities stated that their investigation concluded that the Reiners were victims of homicide and identified their son as the perpetrator responsible for their deaths.
