“JP Saxe Cancels Tour Due to Slow Ticket Sales”

-

Toronto singer-songwriter JP Saxe has decided to cancel his upcoming Make Yourself at Home tour due to slow ticket sales and the high expenses associated with touring. Saxe had urged fans to purchase tickets, stating that unless he sold approximately 20,000 tickets within 48 hours, the tour would likely be called off. Despite selling an additional 2,000 tickets following his appeal, it was insufficient to sustain the tour.

Expressing gratitude for the increased ticket sales, Saxe assured fans that full refunds would be issued and emphasized his commitment to preventing similar cancellations in the future. The Grammy-nominated artist, famous for his 2019 hit single “If the World Was Ending” featuring Julia Michaels, had planned to perform at over 25 locations in North America, including Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, and Vancouver.

This decision comes amidst significant challenges facing the live music industry, exacerbated by economic uncertainties, prolonged inflation, and soaring concert ticket prices observed throughout the year. Saxe acknowledged the support from fans, highlighting the positive impact of community solidarity in times of need. In a TikTok video, he expressed appreciation for ticket buyers and offered his apologies for the cancellation.

Despite the setback, Saxe remains grateful for the support and understanding from his fans during this challenging time.
