Justin Bieber enthusiasts did not have to wait long for a sequel to his unexpected summer release “Swag” as he is set to launch “Swag II” tonight. The Canadian music icon announced on his Instagram account that the album will drop at midnight.
Teasing the release, Bieber shared images of buildings and billboards illuminated in pink with “SWAG II” displayed on them, along with a photo of himself, his one-year-old son Jack, and wife Hailey Bieber. This upcoming album will mark the London, Ont.-born singer’s eighth studio album, although the tracklist remains undisclosed at present.
After surprising fans with “Swag” on July 11, a 21-track R&B album, Justin Bieber dominated the music charts. “Swag” quickly climbed to the top of Billboard’s Top Streaming Albums and Top Streaming Songs charts. It also debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and landed the No. 1 spot on the Top R&B albums chart.
Reportedly, “Swag II” will shift away from R&B and lean more towards pop music, as per Billboard. Bieber’s recent single “Daisies” also made waves by tying him with Kendrick Lamar for the third-most No. 1 songs on the Streaming Songs chart. They trail behind Taylor Swift with nine and Canadian rapper Drake with 21 chart-toppers.
