Katie Price’s turbulent love life, which has included eight engagements and three divorces, has finally led her to meeting “The One,” she says. On her Katie Price Show podcast, she says that boyfriend JJ Slater not only fits perfectly in her life, but he’s been a hit with the whole family.
“He’s very much part of the furniture,” she said, “I feel that if me and JJ were ever not together, I’d upset the whole family.”
But despite that, the former Married at First Sight contestant got a rough ride from his future brother-in-law. Harry Brooks, who is married to Katie’s sister Sophie, greeted JJ’s arrival into the family group chart with three damning words: “What… another one?”
Despite Harry’s harsh words, Katie is besotted with JJ, and says he’s very different to any of her previous boyfriends: “We do have our ups and downs,” she admits, ”Everyone does…I’m a busy person.”
But nevertheless, she feels that JJ is the first man who has really trusted her: “Healthiness [in a relationship] is being able to work, go out with your friends, no questioning.
“When I say no questioning,” Katie adds, “you obviously want someone that cares, but I have felt there’s a massive shift and a massive difference in the relationship I’m in now, compared to all the other relationships I’ve been in. And so far, so good.”
Since she became a glamour model in the mid-1990s, Katie’s life has been lived in the spotlight – and that includes her numerous romances.
Katie’s first high-profile boyfriend was Warren Furman, better known to fans of Gladiators as as Ace. The musclebound Yorkshireman proposed to Katie at one point, but after two years the relationship fizzled out.
Katie then dated pop star Dane Bowers, even describing him as “the love of her life,” but after he forced her to choose between life with him and her glamour modelling work, the couple split. Katie later said that Dane was the “first man to break her heart.”
Next came a turbulent relationship with Manchester United star Dwight Yorke, which led to the birth of Katie’s son Harvey. Yorke refused to acknowledge Harvey, who was born with severely life-limiting disabilities, despite a DNA test proving that the boy is his son.
While Katie was pregnant with Harvey, she enjoyed a brief dalliance with Pop Idol winner Gareth Gates, before moving on to rugby star Danny Cipriani – whom she later brutally dubbed “Danny Chipolata.”
Soon after her relationship with Cipriani came to an end, Katie met her first husband Peter Andre on the set of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!. Their marriage lasted from 2005 to 2009, and together, Peter and Katie welcomed a son, Junior, and two years later a daughter, named Princess.
Months after splitting from Peter Andre, Katie met, and very quickly married, cage fighter Alex Reid, but the marriage didn’t last, and in January 2013, Katie Price married her third husband Kieran Hayler – who was also the father of Katie’s second daughter, Bunny.
After splitting from Kieran in 2018, she dated aspiring reality TV star Kris Boyson, who almost immediately started dropping hints that they were set to marry, but a year later, the couple had split.
Despite accusations from his former Married At First Sight co-star Nathanial Valentino that JJ had been desperate to find himself a celebrity girlfriend, and had slid into the DMs of “every single one” of his well-known female friends, Katie is convinced that he is the right man for her.
