International music icon Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were seen enjoying a meal together on Monday night at an upscale restaurant in Montreal, sparking a buzz online. The initial report by TMZ featured images and footage of the duo engaged in conversation at a cozy table for two in Le Violon, a renowned dining spot overseen by celebrity chef Danny Smiles in the Plateau neighborhood.
According to TMZ, Perry and Trudeau also took a stroll in Montreal’s Mount Royal Park earlier in the day before their dinner. Perry is scheduled to perform in Ottawa on Tuesday, followed by appearances in Montreal and Quebec City as part of her ongoing Lifetimes Tour.
An eyewitness disclosed to TMZ that the pair indulged in cocktails and shared various dishes, including one featuring lobster during their dining experience. The reason behind their joint outing remains undisclosed to the public.
Samantha Jin, a spokesperson for Le Violon, mentioned that Perry and Trudeau spent approximately two hours at the restaurant, displaying kindness and warmth towards the staff. Jin noted that the duo maintained a low-profile during their visit, with no staff or patrons approaching them for photos.
Reportedly, Smiles greeted the pair at their table and they later visited the kitchen to express gratitude to the entire team before departing. Le Violon prides itself on offering seafood-centric dishes made with seasonal Quebec ingredients and was recently ranked as the 11th best restaurant in Canada.
