Kate Cassidy has shared an unseen clip of her late boyfriend Liam Payne following his tragic death aged 31. The One Direction singer died last year following a fall from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina in October.
His grieving girlfriend, who was with him on the trip before retuning to the US early, has been sharing touching personal memories of the star since his death.
Kate, 25, had fans in tears with her recent upload that saw the couple mess around while on a park bench. At the start of the clip, Kate and Liam were seen far apart, at either ends.
Yet they then came together to share a sweet cuddle and kiss with Kate sat on Liam’s lap. Kate topped the bittersweet video with the haunting version of Sophia Fredskild’s song In Another Life.
She sang: “In another life, maybe it was you and me. Maybe there we loved each other, right? And we were happy together. Maybe in that life, we did all the things we said we would.”
The couple, who started dating in 2022, ran towards the camera following their embrace as Liam caught Kate around her waist before the clip ended. Kate wrote alongside the video: “To my Liam, until we meet again the next life.”
Fans were left in tears by the post as one said: “Oh I’m crying.” Another added: “He loved you so much Kate, he’s waiting for you.” Someone else commented: “Liam lives on in the memories you share with us. Thank you for showing us a glimpse of your love.”
Last week, Kate decided to share her final conversation with Liam as she marked six months since his death.
She told the Jay Shetty podcast: “I remember sitting there with him and I was going on and on and on, and saying to Liam how much I love him, and he laughed and interrupted me, and said to me, ‘Kate, you’re going to miss your flight, your car is in the driveway, you’re acting like this is the last time you’re ever going to see me again’.
“I just laughed back, I was like, ‘I know I’m being silly, I need to get in the car, I can’t miss my flight’. Just to even look back in time and really know that that was the last time I was ever going to see him again is just so chilling.”
Kate added: “But in a way, I think that the way that we said goodbye to each other, I’m so blessed, and that’s where I get the peace from it, that it was that heartfelt.
“Our last goodbye, I wouldn’t have wanted it to be any different.” She added that she was “so glad that we had that last beautiful moment together”.
Kate said it “was so hard to process that”, as Liam thought they had “so much time, and it was taken away”. The influencer shared: “I was supposed to be trying on my wedding dress, I wasn’t supposed to be wearing a black dress.”
Following Liam’s death, Kate had told her Instagram followers that he had planned to propose to her. Tragically, she joined Liam’s family in November at the One Direction singer’s private funeral in Buckinghamshire.
