Rapper Lil Nas X was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for a potential overdose following an incident with Los Angeles police officers on Thursday. The altercation occurred when officers responded to reports of a nude individual walking along a bustling boulevard.
Montero Lamar Hill, also known as Lil Nas X, was detained on suspicion of obstructing an officer, a misdemeanor offense, and was placed in police custody. The encounter took place on Ventura Boulevard in the Studio City area early in the morning, around 6 a.m., as confirmed by Officer Charles Miller of the Los Angeles police.
Upon confronting the police officers, Lil Nas X was apprehended and subsequently taken to a hospital due to suspected drug overdose concerns. Although details regarding his condition were not disclosed, he was discharged from the medical facility within a few hours and then transferred to jail.
Footage obtained from TMZ depicted the artist in his underwear and boots on the street during the incident. Following the arrest, Lil Nas X was held at Valley Jail in Van Nuys, close to where he was initially discovered by law enforcement.
Efforts to obtain comments from Lil Nas X’s representatives were unsuccessful at the time of reporting. The 26-year-old musician, renowned for his chart-topping 2018 track “Old Town Road,” a fusion of country and hip-hop, hails from Atlanta. His album “Montero,” released in 2021, reached the second spot on the Billboard album chart and secured a Grammy nomination for album of the year, showcasing his innovative musical style.
