Lil Nas X Enters Treatment Program Amid Felony Charges

-

Lil Nas X was absent from his pre-trial hearing in Los Angeles on September 15 as he had entered an inpatient treatment program. The 26-year-old is facing four felony charges after allegedly fleeing from police officers while roaming the streets of Los Angeles in his underwear.

Following a suspected overdose incident where he was found wandering on Ventura Boulevard in his underwear early in the morning, Lil Nas X was hospitalized. In a video captured by a bystander, the artist was heard shouting, “Hey, don’t be late to the party tonight.”

During the video, Lil Nas X was observed reciting lyrics from Nicki Minaj’s verse in Kanye West’s song “Monster.” Subsequently, he requested the person recording to stop filming.

According to his attorneys during the recent pre-trial hearing, Lil Nas X is currently undergoing treatment at a facility in another state. The judge allowed him to stay out of state as long as he remains in treatment, with potential modifications if his treatment transitions to outpatient care.

After the hearing, Lil Nas X’s lawyer, Drew Findling, stated that they are prioritizing the artist’s well-being both personally and professionally. Findling emphasized the strong support system surrounding Lil Nas X and their commitment to addressing his issues.

Court documents revealed that Lil Nas X is charged with three counts of battery on a police officer and one count of resisting arrest. The LAPD spokesperson indicated that the singer was taken into custody after charging at officers and was subsequently hospitalized for a possible overdose.

The artist pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the next hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18. The Mirror has reached out to Lil Nas X’s representatives for further comments.
