A female prison officer has been charged with having a sexual relationships with two inmates at the same time – whilst allegedly smuggling drugs into a jail. Isabelle Dale appeared in court over her alleged fling with Shahid Sharif, 33, in high security HMP Swaleside on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, between September 1, 2021 and December 31, 2022.

The 23-year-old is also accused of having a sexual relationship with her second jailhouse lover, Connor Money, 28, at the same time. He was in the middle of a nine-year long jail sentence for killing his best friend in a car crash while escaping police at 147mph. Dale appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court charged with two counts of misconduct in a public office connected to the relationships.

The first charge alleges Dale “wilfully and without reasonable excuse or justification misconducted [herself] in a way which amounted to an abuse of the public’s trust in the office holder by having and inappropriate sexual relationship with a serving prisoner by the name of Shahid Sharif.”

The second misconduct charge, alleges Dale had a “sexual relationship with a serving prisoner by the name of Con” between September 1, 2021 and December 31, 2022.

Dale, of Portsmouth, is also charged with conspiring together with Sharif, another female co-conspirator, Lilea Sallis, 27, and others unknown to smuggle controlled drugs into prison.

She was bailed ahead of a plea and trial and preparation hearing at Inner London Crown Court on May 23.

District Judge Adrian Turner told Dale, who appeared in court wearing a short black skirt and has heavily tattooed legs: “These matters must go to the Crown Court. If the case goes to trial, you have got to attend trial.”

Sharif and Sallis, 27, of Brighton, appeared in court separately charged with conspiring with Dale and others unknown to bring controlled drugs into category B prison Swaleside.

Sharif, who appeared via video-link from HMP Manchester, is also charged with possessing a mobile phone in HMP Brixton and HMP Wandsworth. “The next date is 23 May at Inner London Crown Court”, Judge Turner told them.

Dale describes herself on the website “Topline” as “a seasoned Prison Officer with 2 years of experience, holds a degree in Criminology and Law from City of Portsmouth College, and is proficient in English and Maths.”

Money, of Dartford, Kent, is not facing charges for his relationship with Dale. The 28-year-old was jailed at Woolwich Crown Court in 2020 after admitting causing death by dangerous driving.

He fled in his BMW 5 series down the M2 motorway in Kent after he was asked to pull over by police, and then crashed in the back of a lorry at nearly 150mph. His friend Jordan Amos, 23, died in the passenger seat, whilst Money ran off into woodland before being caught.
