The PWHL’s newest additions, PWHL Vancouver and Seattle, have officially revealed their inaugural jerseys. Both teams will showcase Bauer jerseys with the city names emblazoned across the chest for both home and away games. Vancouver’s jersey, inspired by the city’s natural surroundings, features a color scheme of pacific blue, cream, and earthy bronze accents. Seattle’s jerseys boast deep slate green, cream, and river blue accents.
PWHL Vancouver forward Sarah Nurse expressed excitement about the jersey unveiling, anticipating wearing it in the upcoming game. Seattle’s General Manager, Meghan Turner, highlighted the classic design of their jerseys, symbolizing the journey leading to their inaugural season in Seattle.
The PWHL season kicks off on Nov. 21, with Seattle and Vancouver facing each other in one of the opening night matches. Both teams were constructed through an expansion draft process, resulting in the loss of big-name players from the existing six league teams.
Vancouver’s roster includes standout players like Sophie Jaques, Claire Thompson, and Mellissa Channell-Watkins from the Minnesota Frost. Notable signings for Vancouver include Hannah Miller, Jennifer Gardiner, Emerance Maschmeyer, and Kristen Campbell.
Seattle’s team is packed with talent, featuring players like Hilary Knight, Alex Carpenter, and Hannah Bilka. PWHL Vancouver will play their home games at Pacific Coliseum, while Seattle will compete at Climate Pledge Arena, also the home venue for the NHL’s Seattle Kraken and WNBA’s Seattle Storm. Seattle’s inaugural home game will be against the Minnesota Frost on Nov. 28.
