Queen Elizabeth II Upset Over Meghan Markle’s Fashion Choices

-

The Queen reportedly expressed displeasure over Meghan Markle’s fashion choice during a significant royal tour, as detailed in a recent explosive book. Initially seen as a refreshing addition by royal insiders, Meghan’s inclination to challenge conventions began causing friction within the palace. One particular bold move by Meghan, just nine months after her marriage, is said to have particularly upset Queen Elizabeth II.

The relationship between Harry and Meghan started in 2016, with Meghan meeting the Queen in October of the same year at Royal Lodge, a year before their engagement. The Queen extended an invitation to Meghan to join the royal family at Christmas at Sandringham, breaking tradition by inviting her before her marriage to Harry, unlike Princess Kate and Duchess Sophie. However, as the wedding approached in 2018, the Queen reportedly grew concerned about Meghan’s demeanor and conduct, with tensions escalating post-wedding.

Meghan’s preference for high-end designer clothing became a point of contention for the Queen, as revealed by royal author Robert Jobson. During an official tour of Morocco in February 2019, Meghan wore a custom Dior gown at a reception, drawing attention for its lavish design and price tag. The Queen was said to be displeased with the extravagant outfit choice, considering it inappropriate.

This incident was not an isolated one, as Meghan’s expensive tour wardrobes continued to attract scrutiny. In a subsequent visit to Colombia in August 2024, Meghan’s wardrobe expenses amounted to a staggering £90,000. The Mirror sought comment from Meghan’s team, while the Palace chose not to provide a statement.

Robert Jobson’s upcoming book, “The Windsor Legacy,” is set for publication on November 6.
