“Recall Alert: Toyota Vehicles in Canada at Risk”

-

Transport Canada has announced a recall of 70,480 Toyota vehicles in Canada due to a problem with the instrument panel display. The issue involves critical information not being shown, which could lead to an increased risk of accidents or injuries. The recall, initially issued on September 11, affects various models such as Venza, Highlander, Tacoma, GR Corolla, and certain Lexus models with a 12.3-inch display.

The instrument panel software error at vehicle startup may cause the display to fail to show important data like vehicle speed, brake system status, and tire pressure warning lights. Transport Canada stated that affected vehicle owners will be informed via mail to bring their vehicles to a dealership for an update of the combination meter software. In some cases, the dealer may also inspect and replace the combination meter if needed.

Toyota Canada plans to notify impacted vehicle owners by mid-November, as mentioned in a recent statement on their website. This proactive measure aims to address the issue promptly and ensure the safety of drivers and passengers.
