Saskatchewan and Canada’s most sought-after fugitive, Jonathan Ouellet-Gendron, aged 36, was apprehended at Montreal Trudeau Airport on Saturday. Ouellet-Gendron had been evading Saskatoon Police since May 2022, following his involvement in a first-degree murder case stemming from a violent confrontation in a Saskatoon residential area. Additionally, he was wanted on nationwide warrants related to drug trafficking and firearm offenses.
The arrest of Ouellet-Gendron was carried out by the Sûreté du Québec Airport Unit in collaboration with the Mascouche Major Crime Investigation Division and the Canada Border Services Agency upon his reentry into Canada. In 2023, Ouellet-Gendron was ranked as the 10th most wanted individual in Canada according to the Bolo program, which serves as the nation’s primary wanted list.
Currently, Ouellet-Gendron is under the custody of the Sûreté du Québec authorities and is scheduled to appear in a Montreal court today for further proceedings.
