Starmer Condemns Robinson and Musk for Inciting Violence

-

Keir Starmer strongly criticized Tommy Robinson and Elon Musk for inciting violence over the weekend, causing fear among the public nationwide. The Prime Minister emphasized the current battle between patriotic unity and divisive forces, warning against the influence of a protest led by a convicted criminal, Robinson, and advocating for national renewal.

During a Unite the Kingdom rally in London organized by Robinson, also known as Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, a total of 26 officers were injured, with four sustaining serious injuries. Starmer expressed deep concern over the attacks on police officers during the event, highlighting the impact on the entire country, especially ethnic minority communities.

The Prime Minister’s office emphasized the importance of preserving free speech while acknowledging the need to address situations where individuals feel intimidated or threatened due to their backgrounds or skin color. Elon Musk, the wealthiest individual globally, issued alarming statements inciting violence, urging right-wing individuals to “fight back” or face dire consequences.

In response to questions regarding the PM’s use of the term “fight” despite condemning violence, the official spokesperson clarified the need to address divisive elements in society that instill fear and intimidation among certain groups. The government aims to uphold core values of free speech while ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
