The tragedy comes after a teenager was killed in a horror collision on the M6 during the Easter bank holiday when the car he was a passenger in crashed into a tree.
Ryan Liam Morgan, 14, from Morecambe was a passenger in a Peugeot van which left the carriageway between junctions 34 and 33 southbound, near Lancaster.
The emergency services were called at just after 12.15pm on Easter Sunday and arrived to find the boy had suffered serious injuries. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, in his 30s, was Ryan’s father – and he suffered serious injuries in the smash.
In a tribute to the teen, his family said: “Ryan, our precious boy. There truly is no one like our Ryan, such a beautiful soul and so far from typical. Words can’t express how much we have loved and cherished him and how much we always will. The most funny, silly, loving, generous boy, who literally could not stop talking.”
