“Tennis Sensation Felix Auger-Aliassime’s Philanthropic Journey”

-

Montreal tennis sensation Felix Auger-Aliassime is gearing up for his eighth consecutive appearance in the singles main draw at the 2025 U.S. Open Tennis Championships next week. Despite an impressive track record, which includes an Olympic bronze medal and seven ATP Tour singles titles, Auger-Aliassime is shining a spotlight on his philanthropic efforts in Togo, his father’s homeland.

In the late 1990s, Felix’s father, Sam Aliassime, migrated from Togo to Canada, where he found opportunities that seemed unreachable back home. These experiences instilled in Felix the values of hard work, discipline, and a strong work ethic at a young age, fueling his ambition to excel in the world of tennis.

A pivotal moment came in 2019 when Auger-Aliassime had a breakthrough year, prompting him and his father to brainstorm ways to give back to the community beyond the realm of tennis. This led to the inception of their initiative, #FAAPointsForChange, where Felix donates $5 for every point he scores in a match to support education and child welfare in Togo.

Reflecting on the impact of their program, Auger-Aliassime expressed pride in the positive influence it has had on hundreds of children’s education and the upcoming plans to provide scholarships for higher education to young adults in Togo.

Auger-Aliassime’s commitment to philanthropy extends beyond financial contributions as he regularly visits Togo to engage with the youth, gaining a deeper appreciation for his father’s journey and the values instilled in him.

The tennis star’s unexpected Olympic success in winning bronze at the Paris Olympics in mixed doubles last summer was a significant milestone, followed by his engagement announcement to Nina Ghaibi in November 2024. Auger-Aliassime’s drive to succeed stems from his love for competition and the satisfaction of overcoming challenges, which he eagerly anticipates at the upcoming U.S. Open from August 18 to September 8.

For Auger-Aliassime, the joy of winning and the emotions that come with it represent profound happiness, motivating him to strive for excellence in each match he plays.
