E4 is spicing things up this week with their new dating show, The Honesty Box. It’s all about 12 single hopefuls trying their luck with love at a dreamy retreat called Truetopia, complete with all the necessaties of a swoon-worthy holiday spot.
Here’s where it gets really exciting: they’re playing by one golden rule – Don’t lie.
As romance starts to bloom, each contestant faces the challenge of The Honesty Box, an advanced lie detector ready to put them through the wringer.
Participants will be quizzed on their genuine feelings, with just one thing required of them – brutal honesty.
According to the show’s teaser, it reads: “If they tell the truth, it could impact their newly formed relationships but if they lie, it will reduce the £100,000 Trust Fund.”
Guided by a Sincerity Coach, and under the watchful eyes gathered at the dramatic Truth Terrace, the contestants will embark on a journey towards emotional openness. This is where the show’s co-hosts will unveil the fear-inducing Honesty Box outcomes to everyone.
So, what do you need to know about this fresh take on dating reality TV?
Hosting The Honesty Box are none other than reality TV veterans Vicky Pattison and Lucinda Light.
A public favourite, Vicky burst onto the scene with MTV’s Geordie Shore in 2011 and has since graced screens in numerous popular programmes, such as Celebrity MasterChef, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and Celebrity Dinner Date.
Lucinda Light, known for her appearance in 2024’s Married at First Sight Australia, won the nation over with her upbeat attitude. Despite not finding love on the dating show, she certainly captured the hearts of viewers, reports OK!.
When asked about their thoughts on the series, Vicky shared: “It feels fresh, and I do like Channel 4 for that. Making TV that’s organic, and something new, because honestly, the market is a little bit saturated in terms of reality TV and it takes a lot for people to sit up and take notice these days, and I think we’ve found that formula with The Honesty Box.
Lucinda chimed in, adding: “It’s sharp, it’s funny, it’s deep. It’s got it all. It’s such a rollercoaster!”
Throughout the series, audiences will be introduced to 12 singletons all on the hunt for love.
